At Elephate.ai we are building the AI estimation platform for the installation industry. We combine artificial intelligence with deep knowledge of the construction and installation sector to help estimators work faster and smarter.
As an AI Engineer intern you'll work on the core of our product. You'll get hands-on experience with Large Language Models, data pipelines and modern web development. You'll have direct impact on the product and learn how AI is applied in practice, from idea to production.
This is not a coffee-fetching internship. You build with us.
What you'll do
- Build and integrate AI features into our platform (LLMs, document analysis, NLP)
- Work on the frontend and backend of our web platform (React, TypeScript, Python)
- Develop and optimize data pipelines
- Build and connect APIs
- Contribute to product, UX and architecture decisions
- Work with modern tooling: Docker, Git, SQL, REST APIs
What we're looking for
- Student in Software Engineering, Data Science, AI, Computer Science or similar
- No work experience needed, just curiosity and drive
- Interest in AI and how it's applied in practice
- Independent, proactive and not afraid to ask questions
- Good command of Dutch and/or English

As a Product Engineer at Elephate you build across the entire platform. From AI integrations and data pipelines to frontend features and APIs. You work directly with the founders and influence every technical decision. This is not a corporate job — you're building something that fundamentally changes the installation industry.
You're engineer #1. Everything you build goes live.
What you'll do
- Build new features from idea to production — full-stack
- Integrate and optimise AI models (LLMs, document analysis, NLP)
- Develop data pipelines and estimation engines
- Co-own platform architecture and prevent technical debt
- Work directly with customers to translate feedback into product
- Make product decisions — you're not a ticket worker
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of full-stack development experience (React/TypeScript + Python)
- Experience with or strong interest in AI/ML and LLM integrations
- Pragmatic: you choose the solution that works, not the most elegant one
- Ownership: you see a problem and fix it without being asked
- Good command of Dutch and/or English
